Reverie
Long hot days down on the farm,
Long hot days where I belong.
Over the hills and around the creeks,
There's a farm called "Reverie."
It's a place where all of my dreams come true,
They have horses, ponies, and some miniatures too.
Summer days I feed and groom.
I even clean stalls, but I don't use a broom.
I take lessons in the ring.
Sometimes I go on trail rides in the spring.
In my lessons I lope around,
As the horse's hooves beat the ground.
We take the horses to the hitching post.
Then we brush them, and that's what I love the most.
I dream all day of having a horse of my
own,
And riding into the sunset all alone.
I would love a horse that's white,
Like the Pegasus I see at night.
Over the hills and around the creeks,
There's a farm called "Reverie,"
Where the horses and my friends let me be me.

| "Come now
my dear mare, |
She came to
the farm, |
I dedicate
this poem to Mac, the |
| There is
something I must tell you. |
The girl
for her horse. |
horse whom
this poem is about. |
| You're in
my favorite sunny spot, |
She was to
ride him, |
|
| So please
go now, shoo." |
They were
to have fun, of course. |
There once
was a horse, |
| |
|
Pure in
heart and soul. |
| "I'm sorry
my dear stallion, |
After their
fun, |
He was my
horse, |
| But I'm not
going anywhere. |
They
returned to the barn. |
Bonded to
me only by love. |
| I see
another sunny spot, |
She
unsaddled and cleaned him, |
|
| Why don't
you go over there?" |
And then
left the farm. |
When I was
sad, |
| |
|
He was
there to comfort me. |
| "But my
dear mare, |
The next
day she came |
When I was
mad, |
| You just
don't understand. |
To ride him
again. |
He was
there to listen. |
| That is not
my sunny spot, |
But he had
coliced that night, |
When I was
happy, |
| So there I
will not stand." |
So she had
lost her best friend. |
He was
there to help rejoice. |
| |
|
|
|
"Oh my dear stallion, |
The love
between horse and owner |
When I was
gone, |
| I don't see
your plight. |
is as
strong as can be, |
He also
left. |
| So I will
not stand here now, |
For death
cannot stop love. |
However,
only his body left. |
| Nor with
you will I fight." |
It lives
through eternity. |
His heart
still lives in me, |
| |
|
And his
soul lives in Heaven |

Rookie is the sweetest horse he's
sweeter than a cookie,
His name is Imagine That but we all just call him Rookie,
He will lick you on the face for sure as long as you taste good,
Make sure you have a treat of course and don't show him a spur,
He rides so fine it's worth the the time and that's why he's named Rookie.
Rookie's face is oh so sweet you'll end up all in awe,
He loves the birds as they fly by but not the ones that caw,
He runs all day in the pasture as I watch him run faster and faster,
He runs like the wind and I love him and that's why he's named Rookie.
